Job summary

Discovery Commons Newark is seeking a caring Care Giver/Medication Technician to support residents with daily living activities, personal care, and medication administration in a home-like setting.

You will assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility, observe residents, document changes, and respond to call bells, while maintaining safety and dignity in a supportive environment. This part-time role offers weekdays and every other weekend with competitive hourly pay.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Certified Nurse's Aide certification preferred.
• 18 years of age minimum.
• CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
• Previous experience with seniors preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities and exercise good judgment.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on care and supervision for residents, assisting with activities of daily living.
• Administer and observe medications, document accurately, report concerns.
• Monitor resident conditions and changes in behavior, appetite, skin, and participation.
• Engage residents in enrichment programs and life skills activities.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment in resident rooms and common areas.
• Respond promptly to resident call bells and security systems.
• Communicate with residents, families, supervisors, and healthcare staff about care needs.
