Job summary

Griswold Home Care in La Jolla is seeking compassionate part-time caregivers to support seniors with non-medical care and companionship. Flexible hours and 4-, 8-, and 12-hour shifts are available, with mileage reimbursement and ongoing training.

Earn $20–$25 per hour depending on experience. The role emphasizes dignity, reliability, and building rewarding caregiver careers within a supportive local team.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of professional caregiver experience is preferred.
• Experience with dementia, Alzheimer's, Parkinson’s, hospice or higher-acuity clients is a plus.
• CNA or HHA certification is helpful, but not required.
• Registered on CA Home Care Aide Registry with fingerprint check (state & FBI).
• TB clearance that meets CA Health and Safety Code 1796.45.
• High school diploma or GED, associate degree preferred.
• Human Services experience of at least 6 months is required.
• Strong desire to help others is a must.
• Alzheimer's/dementia/diabetic experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Read care plans and follow instructions.
• Communicate with Agency office by phone or text messages.
• Must have reliable transportation to and from a client’s home.
• Assist with bathing, grooming, meals and basic homemaking.
• Complete shift documentation and update the office on client status.
