Job summary

Harmony Senior Services in Chesapeake, VA is seeking a Resident Assistant/PCA to provide quality care and assist residents with daily living activities in a supportive community.

You will monitor resident conditions, report concerns, assist with meals, participate in activities, and follow safety and confidentiality policies. Must have a high school diploma or GED, complete a state-approved PCA program, and obtain CPR/First Aid certification within 60 days.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must complete approved Personal Care Aide program per state regulations.
• Effective verbal and written communication required.
• Organized and able to work with all levels of staff.
• Polite and respectful toward residents, visitors and coworkers.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living.
• Perform housekeeping duties as directed by supervisor.
• Respond to resident calls and emergencies promptly.
• Support activity programming and social engagement.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident information.
• Assist with mobility and safe transfers.
• Communicate resident status and needs to the team in writing and verbally.
• Support move‑in transitions and emotional well‑being.
