Job summary

Harmony seeks a Resident Assistant/Personal Care Aide (PCA) to provide quality care and assistance with activities of daily living for residents in our Chesapeake community.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, completion of an approved PCA program, and CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain within 60 days). Candidate must be able to lift 50 lbs and work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or GED
• Must have completed approved personal care assistant program per state regulations as applicable
• Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing
• Must be organized and able to work with all levels of personnel
• Must be CPR/First Aid certified, or willing to become certified within 60 days of hire
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs and push or carry 25 lbs
• Must be willing to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays

Responsibilities

• Provide quality care and assistance with activities of daily living to residents
• report incidents and care concerns to appropriate individuals
• perform housekeeping duties in resident apartments and common areas as directed
• respond promptly to resident calls for assistance or emergency alerts
• assist in planning and conducting resident activity programs
• maintain confidentiality of resident information
• assist residents with move-in transition and provide emotional support
• other duties as assigned
