Job summary

Goodworks Unlimited in Kentucky is seeking a compassionate Resident Assistant to support residents in daily living activities at our assisted living facility. You will aid with bathing, dressing, meals, mobility, and daily tasks while maintaining dignity and safety.

Applicants should be dependable, able to work as part of a caring team, and communicate effectively with residents, families and coworkers. CNA is welcome but not required; a high school diploma or GED is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• CNA certification welcome but not required.
• Previous experience in assisted living, long-term care or caregiving preferred but not required.
• Must be dependable, compassionate and able to work effectively as part of a team.
• Must be able to communicate effectively with residents, families and coworkers.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting and personal hygiene.
• Provide assistance with mobility, transfers and ambulation.
• Assist with incontinence care and regularly scheduled toileting.
• Respond promptly to resident call lights and requests for assistance.
• Assist residents with meals, hydration and daily activities.
• Observe and promptly report changes in residents’ physical condition, behavior or mental status to the nurse or supervisor.
• Maintain clean and organized resident rooms. May assist housekeeping with tasks such as: making beds, changing linens, laundry, and performing light housekeeping.
• Document resident care and report pertinent information during shift changes.
• Follow established infection prevention, emergency and resident safety procedures.
• Maintain resident privacy, confidentiality and dignity.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Clinical Director or Administrator.
