Job summary

Brown University Health is seeking a Behavioral Health Attendant to provide direct, non-clinical support for patients requiring observations. You will work under the RN and collaborate with clinical staff to maintain a safe, therapeutic environment while upholding patient dignity.

The role requires a high school diploma and prior experience in direct patient care or related education. Work hours include day shifts with every other weekend/holiday.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in direct patient care and/or patient observations, or completion of one year of progressive education in a human services-related field.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct non-clinical support to patients requiring observations.
• Observe and document patient behavior, mood and activity per protocol.
• De-escalate situations using approved verbal intervention techniques.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living as needed.
• Collaborate with nursing and clinical staff to maintain a safe environment.
