Job summary

Tenet Healthcare's Piedmont Medical Network - Rock Hill Hospital is seeking a patient care support professional to provide essential assistance and comfort to patients while ensuring high-quality care in daily activities and vital sign monitoring.

The role involves working under the direction of the Nurse, performing ADLs, and collaborating with the health care team to meet unit and hospital goals. Flexibility to float to other units may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Good therapeutic communication skills required.
• BLS CPR certification required within 7 days of hire; CPI certification required within orientation period.

Responsibilities

• Accurately checks patient's blood sugar and documents results as ordered.
• Obtains vital signs appropriately based on patient's age and condition.
• Performs ADLs on all patients assigned including oral care and assisting with feedings when indicated.
• Documents all patient data in chart within a timely manner (vitals, weight, I/Os).
• Communicates therapeutically with patients in one-to-one situations and focuses on goals and objectives listed in the Multidisciplinary Treatment Plan.
• Performs related duties as required.
