Job summary

Piedmont Medical Network - Rock Hill Hospital is seeking a patient care support professional to assist nurses in daily patient care activities, monitor vital signs, and support ADLs. The role requires strong communication and the ability to follow the Multidisciplinary Treatment Plan under RN supervision.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience: Good therapeutic communication skills required.
• Licensure/Certification: American Heart Association BLS CPR certification required, must be obtained within 7 days of hire.
• CPI certification required within orientation period.
• Preferred: Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Experience: Relevant patient care experience in a hospital setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Accurately checks patient’s blood sugar and documents results as ordered.
• Obtains vital signs appropriately based on patient’s age and condition.
• Performs ADLs on all patients assigned including oral care and assisting with feedings when indicated.
• Documents all patient data in chart within a timely manner (vitals, weight, I/Os).
• Communicates therapeutically with patients in one-to-one situations and focuses on goals and objectives listed in the Multidisciplinary Treatment Plan.
