Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.
• 1 Year Relevant Customer Service experience required.
• 2 Years Professional office/healthcare experience preferred.
• CHAA - Certified Healthcare Access Associate Upon Hire preferred.
• CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training maintained annually 90 days required.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients and families when they arrive, setting a compassionate tone for their visit.
• Gather demographic information to ensure electronic health record integrity.
• Identify network coverage and obtain/verify benefits and pre-certification for applicable tests/procedures.
• Educate patients about legal, ethical, and compliance documents; ensure consents are signed.
• Explain financial obligations and prepare estimates to collect co-pays, self-pay deposits, and balances.
• Ensure regulatory elements are completed correctly (IMM, MSPQ, ABN/Non-Coverage).
• Maintain Epic queue and scorecard dashboard; participate in staff meetings and process improvements.
• Communicate with patients about insurance plans and potential non-coverage implications.
