Job summary

Texas Health Dallas is seeking an Admissions Specialist for the Admitting ER, based at our Dallas facility. You will warmly welcome patients and families, collect demographics for the electronic health record, and verify insurance coverage and pre-certifications to expedite care.

You will educate patients on legal and regulatory documents, discuss financial obligations, and prepare clear estimates for co-pays. A professional, empathetic approach is essential in a high-stress environment.

Qualifications

• 1 year of customer service experience required.
• 2 years of professional office/healthcare experience preferred.
• CHAA - Certified Healthcare Access Associate preferred upon hire.
• CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training required within 60 days of hire.
• Excellent data entry, numeric, typing and computer navigational skills.
• Proficient with Epic, Microsoft Office and assorted software programs.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients and families, set a calm tone on arrival.
• Gather complete demographic information for EHR integrity.
• Identify network coverage and validate benefits/pre-certification for tests/procedures, maximizing reimbursement.
• Educate patients about legal, ethical and compliance documents; ensure consents are signed.
• Explain financial obligations and prepare estimates for co-pays and balances.
• Ensure MSPQ, IMM and ABN checks are completed correctly.
• Maintain customer service and productivity guidelines.
