Job Summary

The Caregiver role is essential for individuals who require assistance with daily activities such as bathing, eating, and personal hygiene. Caregivers generally work with elderly or disabled clients in a home care environment.

Position Details

We are seeking companion caregivers in the west end of Richmond for overnight shifts (8:00 PM - 8:00 AM).

Caregiver Compensation and Benefits

• Compensation: $16 - $20/hour

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with prescribed medications
• Support clients with mobility and ambulation, including doctor’s appointments and walks
• Help with personal care and hygiene
• Assist with physical therapy exercises
• Shop for clients or accompany them shopping
• Perform light housekeeping and meal preparation
• Gather information about health conditions and treatment plans
• Report incidents to healthcare providers and family
• Respond promptly to emergencies

Requirements

• Previous caregiving experience preferred but not required
• Current CPR certification (American Heart Association)
• Adherence to health and safety standards
• Knowledge of housekeeping and dietary needs
• Respectful, compassionate, with good bedside manner
• Excellent communication, time management, and interpersonal skills
• Physical endurance for required tasks
• High school diploma or equivalent
