Maxim Healthcare is hiring a Companion Caregiver to provide in-home services to patients in their residences in Culver City, CA. The role emphasizes compassionate, non-medical support and daily living assistance.

Responsibilities include promoting socialization, encouraging light exercise, and ensuring medication reminders. Strong communication and English proficiency are required, with 18+ years old and prior companion care experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• One year of experience as a Companion Care Homemaker/Companion Care Provider preferred.
• Ability to carry out tasks professionally and adhere to boundaries.
• Must demonstrate a compassionate nature and strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to elicit/provide information via strong communication skills.
• Proficiency in the English language is required.
• Computer proficiency required.

Responsibilities

• Provides “hands off” care such as socialization and encouraging a mild exercise program.
• Encourages medication reminders to help with compliance.
• Supervises client safety during bathing, toileting and dressing.
• Assists with grocery shopping and light housekeeping tasks.
• Performs other duties as assigned as necessary.
• Arrives at client’s home on time and ends shift as scheduled.
• Follows infection control procedures, including universal precautions.

Responsibilities

• Provides “hands off” care such as:
  • Providing and encouraging socialization
  • Encouraging a mild exercise program
  • Encouraging medication compliance through timely reminders to take medications
  • Supervising the safety of the patient/client when bathing, toileting, and dressing
  • Assisting with grocery-shopping; and performing light housekeeping chores
  • Performs other duties as assigned/necessary
• Arrives at the client’s home on time and leaves when shift schedule is complete
• Performs all duties in an accurate and timely manner
• Safeguards the client/patient by observing appropriate infection control procedures including but not limited to universal precautions

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old
• One (1) year of experience as a Companion Care Homemaker/Companion Care Provider preferred
• Ability to carry out tasks in a professional manner and adhere to policies regarding professionalism and boundaries preferred
• Must demonstrate a compassionate nature and possess strong interpersonal skills preferred
• Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills preferred
• Proficiency in the English language is required
• Computer proficiency required
