Job summary

Qualifications

• Proficiency in English required
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills preferred
• Ability to work professionally and adhere to boundaries

Responsibilities

• Provides socialization and encourages a mild exercise program
• Encourages medication reminders and ensures medication compliance
• Assists with daily tasks including light housekeeping and shopping
• Safeguards client safety during bathing, toileting, and dressing
• Arrives on time and completes shift with accurate, timely duties
• Maintains infection control procedures and universal precautions

Responsibilities

• Provides “hands off” care such as:
• Providing and encouraging socialization
• Encouraging a mild exercise program
• Encouraging medication compliance through timely reminders to take medications
• Supervising the safety of the patient/client when bathing, toileting, and dressing
• Assisting with grocery-shopping; and performing light housekeeping chores
• Performs other duties as assigned/necessary
• Arrives at the client’s home on time and leaves when shift schedule is complete
• Performs all duties in an accurate and timely mannerSafeguards the client/patient by observing appropriate infection control procedures including but not limited to universal precautions

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old
• One (1) year of experience as a Companion Care Homemaker/Companion Care Provider preferred
• Ability to carry out tasks in a professional manner and adhere to policies regarding professionalism and boundaries preferred
• Must demonstrate a compassionate nature and possess strong interpersonal skills preferred
• Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills preferred
• Proficiency in the English language is required
• Computer proficiency required
