Maxim Healthcare Services, Inc. is hiring a Companion Caregiver to provide care to patients/clients in their homes. This non-medical role focuses on companionship, safety, and support with daily activities; it includes light housekeeping and grocery assistance.

The position requires 18+ years old, English proficiency, and strong interpersonal skills; one year of related experience is preferred. Benefits include health, dental, vision, life insurance, HSA, PTO and a 401(k) plan.

• Ability to communicate professionally and maintain appropriate boundaries.

Responsibilities

• Provides socialization and encourages a mild exercise program.
• Encourages medication reminders to promote compliance.
• Safeguards client safety during bathing, toileting and dressing.
• Assists with grocery shopping and performs light housekeeping.
• Arrives on time and completes the assigned shift.
• Observes infection control procedures to protect client health.

Hourly Pay: $20.34 - $21.50

Responsibilities:

• Provides “hands off” care such as:
  • Providing and encouraging socialization
  • Encouraging a mild exercise program
  • Encouraging medication compliance through timely reminders to take medications
  • Supervising the safety of the patient/client when bathing, toileting, and dressing
  • Assisting with grocery-shopping; and performing light housekeeping chores
  • Performs other duties as assigned/necessary
• Arrives at the client’s home on time and leaves when shift schedule is complete
• Performs all duties in an accurate and timely manner
• Safeguards the client/patient by observing appropriate infection control procedures including but not limited to universal precautions

Requirements:

• Must be at least 18 years old
• One (1) year of experience as a Companion Care Homemaker/Companion Care Provider preferred
• Ability to carry out tasks in a professional manner and adhere to policies regarding professionalism and boundaries preferred
• Must demonstrate a compassionate nature and possess strong interpersonal skills preferred
• Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills preferred
• Proficiency in the English language is required
• Computer proficiency required
