Maxim Healthcare Services, Inc. is hiring a Companion Caregiver to provide in-home services to patients in their residence. The role focuses on offering compassionate, non-medical support including social engagement, mild exercise encouragement, and help with daily activities.

Responsibilities include timely arrivals, accurate task performance, and adherence to infection control practices. English proficiency and basic computer skills are required, with one year of related experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• One year of experience as a Companion Care Homemaker/Companion Care Provider preferred.
• Ability to carry out tasks professionally and adhere to policies regarding boundaries.
• Compassionate nature with strong interpersonal skills preferred.
• Strong communication skills with appropriate information exchange.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-off care: encourage socialization and mild exercise; assist with medication reminders to improve adherence; supervise safety during bathing, toileting, and dressing; assist with groceries and light housekeeping; perform other duties as assigned.
• Arrive at client’s home on time and complete shift as scheduled.
• Perform duties accurately and timely.
• Safeguard client by following infection control procedures and universal precautions.

Responsibilities

• Provides "hands off" care such as:
  • Providing and encouraging socialization
  • Encouraging a mild exercise program
  • Encouraging medication compliance through timely reminders to take medications
  • Supervising the safety of the patient/client when bathing, toileting, and dressing
  • Assisting with grocery-shopping; and performing light housekeeping chores
  • Performs other duties as assigned/necessary
• Arrives at the client's home on time and leaves when shift schedule is complete
• Performs all duties in an accurate and timely manner
• Safeguards the client/patient by observing appropriate infection control procedures including but not limited to universal precautions

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old
• One (1) year of experience as a Companion Care Homemaker/Companion Care Provider preferred
• Ability to carry out tasks in a professional manner and adhere to policies regarding professionalism and boundaries preferred
• Must demonstrate a compassionate nature and possess strong interpersonal skills preferred
• Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills preferred
• Proficiency in the English language is required
• Computer proficiency required
