Job summary

BAYADA Home Health Care is hiring a part-time Companion/Buddy to support people with disabilities in Maui communities. No experience required—we provide training and flexibility in scheduling. You’ll help clients build independence, join community activities, and focus on dignity and quality of life.

Work locations include Kahului, Wailuku, Kihei, and surrounding areas. Weekly pay starts at $20/hour with opportunities for higher rates as needs increase. Join BAYADA’s caring team on Maui.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Passion for supporting individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities
• Patience, empathy, and reliability
• Ability to read and write in English
• Reliable transportation and ability to transport clients to community activities

$1,000 Sign on Bonus

Weekly pay starting at $20/hour, with opportunities to earn higher rates when supporting clients with more complex needs.

Locations We’re Hiring: Kahului, Wailuku, Kihei, Pukalani, Makawao, Kula, and surrounding communities.

Employment Type: Part-Time (Weekday and Weekend Availability)

Direct Support Professional (DSP) - Companion/Buddy In this rewarding role, you will provide one-on-one companionship and community-based support to individuals with Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, and other intellectual and developmental disabilities. You'll help individuals build independence, develop life skills, participate in community activities, and achieve their personal goals.

No experience required—we provide training!

How You’ll Make an Impact:

• Build meaningful, long-term relationships through one-on-one support.

• Participate in clients’ favorite activities and community events, including programs such as Special Olympics.

• Assist individuals in developing independence and achieving personal goals, such as budgeting, shopping, socializing, using public transportation, and maintaining an active lifestyle.

• Provide support with dignity, respect, and person-centered care.

• Promote client safety and well-being at home and in the community.

• Help create enjoyable and enriching experiences that support inclusion and quality of life.

• Have fun on Maui as a supportive Buddy!
