Job summary

BAYADA Home Health Care in Hawaii is hiring a Part-Time Habilitation Technician to provide 1:1 support for individuals with autism, IDD, and related needs in home and community settings. The role offers a flexible schedule, weekday and weekend shifts, and opportunities for growth based on client needs and performance.

You’ll work with a compassionate team, receive on‑going coaching from an on‑site nurse and managers, and participate in community activities and routines that promote independence

Qualifications

• One year experience supporting individuals with intellectual and/or development disabilities
• Ability to transport clients to community activities
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Be at least 18 years of age
• The ability to read and write in English

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support in the home and in the community
• Assist with everyday tasks and transportation
• Participate in community integration activities, errands, and appointments
• Teach, encourage and celebrate small achievements to help clients grow
• Collaborate with on‑staff nurse and managers to enhance caregiving skills
• Provide personal care assistance as needed

Seeking recent graduates, Paraprofessionals, Direct Support Professionals, Habilitation Technicians, Personal Care Aides, Nurse’s Aides, Caregivers, those caring for a family member, and those interested in working with individuals with Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, and other Intellectual or Developmental Disabilities (IDDs).

BAYADA Habilitation is currently seeking a Habilitation Technician to work as a Caregiver for individuals with autism, intellectual, or developmental disabilities. Compassionate caregivers embody both empathy and respect in every interaction, striving to uplift and empower the people they support. Our caregivers provide 1:1 support in the home and in the community.

How You’ll Make an Impact:

• Spend time on the client’s favorite hobbies and activities.
• Assist with everyday tasks, such as meal preparation.
• Participate in community integration activities, errands, and appointments.
• Patiently teach, encourage, and celebrate small achievements, giving people the space to grow.
• Opportunity to enhance caregiving skills with support from our on‑staff nurse and managers.
• Provide personal care assistance as needed
