Job summary

Western States Equipment Company in Idaho is seeking a customer-focused sales and service coordinator to act as the primary contact for Cat Compact Sales, coordinating Parts, Service, and Rental operations to ensure a positive customer experience.

You will identify customer needs, recommend Caterpillar equipment and services, communicate with internal teams, and manage quotations, orders, and rental contracts to support business growth.

Qualifications

• Proof of high school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 2 years Heavy Equipment Industry experience; Caterpillar experience preferred.
• Minimum 1 year sales experience; heavy equipment environment preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Ability to communicate in English (speak, read, write).

Responsibilities

• Contribute to a safe environment for employees, customers, and vendors.
• Coordinate between customers, service technicians and branch staff to ensure efficient service delivery.
• Support sales by maintaining customer data, logging opportunities, using AX/365.
• Maintain organized inventory storage locations and work areas.
• Assist with cycle counts and inventory management processes.
• Updates and maintains Shop.Cat.Com live inventory for accurate visibility.
• Schedules service work in Dynamics 365 and communicates status updates.
• Monitor open service calls and communicate status updates to customers.
• Create, update, and close service calls to support operations.
• Coordinate customer rental requests and equipment availability; process rental agreements.
• Support rental transaction administration and documentation requirements.
• Utilize AX/365 and other systems to process customer transactions and records.
• Ensure accuracy in customer transactions, service records, inventory, and rental agreements.
• Prioritize workload to support Sales, Parts, Service, and Rental needs.
• Maintain presentation and cleanliness of Equipment and Attachment Inventory in the Compact Yard.
• Support branch goals through teamwork, efficiency, and customer service.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.
