Job summary

White Lodging is seeking an Entry Level Cook to learn culinary duties within our hospitality operations in Richmond. You will start with the basics, follow food-handling procedures, and help maintain quality across dishes.

This role requires basic cooking skills, the ability to stand for long periods, and a willingness to learn. We offer daily pay, Day 1 medical/dental/vision, PTO with rollover, and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Entry level cook with basic cooking knowledge and enthusiasm to learn.
• Follows recipes and standard procedures with attention to detail.
• Willingness to learn health and safety guidelines and kitchen routines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook basic menu items following standard recipes.
• Follow food handling and storage procedures and safety guidelines.
• Maintain food and labor cost awareness and waste reduction.
• Check freshness of ingredients and ensure portion control.
• Support guest satisfaction by following quality and service standards.

Responsibilities

What You'll Do

• An Entry Level Cook is a Culinarian in training position, the full job description and all job duties will be learned and practiced
• Utilize company F&B procedures as well as health department regulations, and federal guidelines
• Follow proper food handling and storage procedures
• Maintain Food Cost and Labor Cost
• Check freshness of foods and ingredients, ensure all recipes and portion-use records are followed
• Be aware of all guest feedback scores and conspire for positive influence on rankings
• Foster a climate of cooperation and respect between coworkers
• Perform other duties as assigned

What You'll Bring

• An Entry Level Cook will have basic knowledge of cooking and preparation equipment
• Basic cooking skills, IE: Sautéing, Broiling, Frying, Roasting, Butchery, Garde Manger, Pantry, Breakfast Cookery, etc.
• Culinary Education or apprenticeship is preferred but not mandatory
• Ability to stand and move at a fast pace for long periods of time
