Job summary

MaineHealth is seeking a Peer Support Specialist to provide one-on-one support in the community, at home, or at the work site, and to facilitate group sessions. The role also connected clients to wellness and recovery opportunities in their communities.

Required qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and CIPSS certification (or ability to obtain). A valid driver’s license and vehicle are required for work assignments.

Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma or GED preferred.
• License/Certifications: CIPSS Certification or ability to obtain; CIPSS may be required within 9 months of hire.
• Experience: Experience providing one-on-one and/or group facilitation peer support preferred.
• Additional Skills/Requirements: Computer proficiency required.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one support to individuals in the community, at home, or at the peer supporter’s work location.
• Facilitate group sessions and connect clients with wellness and recovery opportunities in their communities.
