Job summary

YMCA of Central Florida is seeking an enthusiastic Personal Trainer to work on-site, delivering high-quality training and exceptional customer service in a clean, safe environment. You will design personalized fitness programs, coach members, and promote all YMCA wellness offerings.

Candidates should hold a CPT certification (or equivalent) and be prepared to obtain CPR/First Aid. Experience with diverse populations is preferred; on-call and weekend rotations may be required.

Qualifications

• Requires Certified Personal Training certification or approved specialized certification from recognized bodies (ACSM, NASM, NSCA, ACE, ISSA, NPTI, NETA, etc.).
• CPR, First Aid, AED preferred; must obtain within 60 days of hire.
• Experience with diverse populations preferred.
• At least 18 years old; high school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Actively recruits and retains personal training clients.
• Maintain confidentiality of member information.
• Process member payments through member services per policy.
• Assist members on the wellness floor and Family Center.
• Design personalized programs and document progress.
• Coach and motivate members toward behavior change.
• Monitor member progress and answer questions to achieve goals.
• Stay current on fitness trends to provide accurate information.
• Build authentic relationships and connect members with YMCA.
• Upsell programs including Personal Training, Group Exercise, Youth Sports, Aquatics & Youth Development.
• Use tools and handouts to increase knowledge of healthy living programs.
