Job summary

Easterseals Delaware & Maryland’s Eastern Shore is seeking a dedicated Community Support Specialist to provide community-based support to adults with intellectual disabilities, helping them strengthen work and daily living skills.

The role requires compassionate individuals who can start early, maintain a 40-hour week, and pass background checks. Competitive benefits, a sign-on bonus, and growth opportunities are offered in a welcoming environment.

Qualifications

• Must care for adults with disabilities.
• Must work 40 hours weekly M-F (daytime) with morning availability as early as 6AM.
• Must be at least 21 years old to drive company vehicles.
• Ability to pass criminal background checks including additional checks for janitorial contracts.
• Driving record in good standing.
• Experience supporting individuals with disabilities in a community setting.
• Supervision of a participants janitorial work crew in the community.
• Experience providing support to Adult individuals with disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide support and guidance in the community to adults with intellectual disabilities.
• Help individuals learn work and life skills to promote independence.
• Assist with daily routines and communication.
• Build positive relationships with the people supported.
