Job summary

Qualifications

• Six months of public contact experience.
• Completion of 9 semester or 12 quarter units in behavioral or social sciences or related field.
• Knowledge of basic needs of disadvantaged groups and cross-cultural differences.

Responsibilities

• Provide information and educational materials on departmental and program services; help the community understand policies and procedures.
• Establish communication between department, community, clients and the public; provide feedback to staff.
• Interview clients to gather basic information and assist with necessary forms and paperwork.
• Track and log information such as individuals contacted and services provided.
• Schedule appointments and refer clients to other agencies when appropriate.
