Job summary

The Community Council of South Central Texas is seeking a Community Services Coordinator to assist low-income individuals with utility or rental assistance while adhering to federal, state and local policies. The role includes eligibility screening, data entry, and case management to help clients transition out of poverty.

You will maintain client files, prepare vouchers, collaborate with agencies, and provide outreach in the CCSCT service area; travel as needed; bilingual Spanish/English

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
• 1–3 years of experience in a social service setting or related work; nonprofit or social service experience preferred.
• Experience managing a daily caseload strongly preferred.
• Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conducts initial client interviews, including calculating income, obtaining required documentation, and entering applications.
• Assesses eligibility for program services and follows guidelines and procedures.
• Assists clients with paperwork and makes referrals as needed.
• Maintains complete and accurate client case files and SHAH system records.
• Prepares utility vouchers and pledges for processing and payment.
• Maintains accurate account balances and reconciles funds with fiscal reports.
• Provides ongoing case management and liaison between agencies, clients, and service providers.
• Travel within the CCSCT service area as required.
