Job summary

United Way of Greater Knoxville is seeking a Community School Site Coordinator to connect students, families, and school staff. You will assess needs, assemble resources, and implement an annual plan aligned with school goals.

Work closely with principals and community partners, facilitate a steering committee, grow partnerships, and monitor progress with data. You’ll manage the site budget and help secure funding while staying connected with leadership.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in social work, human services, business, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of relevant work experience.
• Gift for building trust across cultures, backgrounds, and levels.
• Strong facilitation and communication skills; adapt messages for diverse audiences.
• Comfort using data and reports to make decisions.
• Excellent organization and ability to juggle priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint) and openness to new tools.
• Reliable transportation for occasional local and regional travel.

Responsibilities

• Build the plan by assessing your school community’s strengths, needs, and opportunities to create an annual site plan aligned with school goals.
• Convene and facilitate a site steering committee of families, community members, and school staff to set priorities and guide the work.
• Grow partnerships by cultivating relationships with local organizations that expand access to services for students and families.
• Use data to drive impact; track strategies, adjust what isn’t working, and report progress to leadership.
• Be part of the school; serve as an integrated member and stay in close communication with leadership.
• Engage the community by coordinating events and creating a welcoming environment.
• Steward resources by managing the site budget and identifying new funding.
