Job summary

Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools is seeking an After School Group Leader for Ephesus Elementary School in Chapel Hill, NC. You will plan, teach, and supervise children in all program activities and on field trips, ensuring safety and engagement.

Responsibilities include delivering enriching activities, attending weekly staff meetings, and adhering to PBIS guidelines to manage behavior. A high school diploma and TB/medical certification are required or in progress.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience with teaching and supervising children (grades K-5) in a recreational or educational setting – preferred.
  • At least 19 years of age.
  • High school diploma required.
  • Documentation of TB test results signed by a medical practitioner licensed in NC by first day of employment.
  • Documentation of a Medical Report within thirty days of first day of employment.
  • Documentation of CPR, SFA and Playground Safety certification.
  • Completed required number of CEU credits by designated date.

Community Schools After School Group Leader

Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools, Ephesus Elementary School – Chapel Hill, North Carolina.

Position Overview

The After School Group Leader plans, teaches, and supervises children in all program activities and on field trips.

Essential Duties
  • Works with a specific group of children as assigned by the Site Director; teaches and supervises children in all program activities and on field trips
  • Plains and organizes a variety of enriching and age‑appropriate program activities in accordance with North Carolina Child Care Licensing Requirements
  • Provides an environment that ensures the safety and well‑being of all students
  • Participates in weekly site staff meetings
  • Follows PBIS (Positive Intervention Behavior Support) guidelines for managing student behavior
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisors
Staff Development
  • Completes six hours of required staff orientation within first two weeks of employment
  • Completes an additional three hours of required staff orientation within first six weeks of employment
  • Completes OSAHA, Diabetes, Allergy and Managing Behavior I & II training modules within first month of employment
  • Completes Basic School‑Age Care (BSAC) training within sixty days of employment
  • Completes certification in CPR, SFA or Playground Safety as required
  • Completes required number of staff development hours/CEU credits by the designated date
General Duties
  • Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor
  • Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures
Education & Experience Requirements

  • Such alternatives or additional qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
