New York Edge is seeking a Community School Culture and Climate Coordinator to support the Community School Director and lead school-wide culture initiatives, restorative practices, and student engagement in Far Rockaway. You will partner with principals, teachers, and families to create a safe, inclusive environment.

The role focuses on attendance, mental health, expanded learning, and family engagement, with opportunities to participate in professional development and NYC Public Schools

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
• Experience working with children or youth in school, after-school, summer program, or community setting preferred.
• Familiarity with restorative practices or positive behavior support is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Implement proactive strategies to strengthen school culture and climate.
• Foster a safe, welcoming, inclusive environment that supports student belonging.
• Facilitate restorative circles and community-building activities.
• Collaborate with the Community School Director, administrators, and teachers to identify student needs and interventions.
• Engage families as partners in supporting students’ social-emotional development and overall school experience.
• Support student engagement and positive behavior in classrooms, halls, and common areas.
• Participate in relevant school-based meetings (Community School Team, attendance, culture, safety).
• Maintain regular communication with the Community School Director regarding engagement and trends.
