Job summary

New York Edge seeks a passionate, community-driven Deputy Director of Community Schools to lead and strengthen School-based programs across NYC. You will design high-impact programming, oversee operations, manage risk, and ensure fiscal accountability while partnering with principals, families, and partners.

The role requires executive leadership, strong relationships, and experience managing multi-site programs in urban education environments. Evening/weekend events may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred in education, youth development, social work, or related field.
• Five years of management experience, preferably supervising school-based, multi-site programs.
• At least 7 years of experience in urban education or community-based organizations.
• Experience building relationships to advance program goals in youth development setting.
• Experience managing program budgets in excess of $800,000.

Responsibilities

• Lead Program Directors in developing comprehensive needs assessments for each school community.
• Design and implement innovative programming responsive to evolving needs of students, families, and stakeholders.
• Guide Directors in aligning curricula with funder guidelines and adopt evidence-based pedagogy.
• Foster relationships with school leaders, partners, and funders to advance the Community School model.
• Oversee daily operations across sites, ensuring compliance and efficiency.
