Job summary

City of SeaTac, WA is seeking a Community Recreation Specialist to plan and deliver diverse recreation programs, manage front desk operations at the SeaTac Community Center, and oversee facility rentals. You will support program budgeting and provide excellent customer service to patrons, volunteers, and partners.

The ideal candidate brings strong customer service, communication, and organizational skills, with experience in recreation programming, facility operations, and recreation software.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• College-level coursework in recreation, leisure studies, or related field is preferred.
• Two years of recreation program or community center operations experience is preferred; supervisory experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and implement recreation programs for youth, teens, adults, and seniors.
• Oversee facility rentals, scheduling, and front desk operations.
• Train, coordinate, and monitor volunteers and part-time staff.
• Maintain program records, reports, schedules, and recreation software accounts.
• Provide excellent customer service and resolve patron inquiries.
• Assist with program budgeting, purchasing, and revenue tracking.
• Support marketing efforts through brochures, flyers, and digital content.
• Build relationships with community partners, schools, agencies, and vendors.
• Open and close the facility; work evenings and weekends.
• Administer basic First Aid and CPR as needed.
