Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and implement recreation programs for youth, teens, adults, and seniors.
  • Oversee facility rentals, scheduling, and front desk operations.
  • Train, coordinate, and monitor volunteers and part-time staff.
  • Maintain program records, reports, schedules, and recreation software accounts.
  • Provide excellent customer service and resolve patron inquiries.
  • Assist with program budgeting, purchasing, and revenue tracking.
  • Support marketing efforts through brochures, flyers, and digital content.
  • Build relationships with community partners, schools, agencies, and vendors.
  • Open and close the facility; work evenings and weekends.
  • Administer basic First Aid and CPR as needed.

The Community Recreation Specialist plays a key role in delivering high-quality recreation experiences for the SeaTac community. Under the direction of the Community Recreation Supervisor, this position plans, prepares, coordinates, and implements recreation programs, classes, and community events; oversees front desk operations at the SeaTac Community Center; manages facility rentals; supports program budgeting; and provides exceptional customer service to patrons, volunteers, and partner organizations.

This role requires strong customer service, communication, and organizational skills, along with technical abilities in facility operations, recreation programming, and reporting through recreation software. The ideal candidate is action-oriented, adaptable, resilient, and committed to serving a diverse community with professionalism and care.

  • Supervisory experience preferred
  • CPRP certification preferred
  • Valid Washington State Driver’s License by date of hire
  • Ability to obtain First Aid/CPR within 30 days
