Job summary

The Village of Algonquin Recreation Department seeks a part-time Recreation Supervisor to plan, coordinate, and deliver a variety of programs and facility rentals that enhance community life. The role emphasizes teamwork, high-quality experiences, and effective communication to support residents and events.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Parks and Recreation, Recreation Management, or related field, or minimum of 2 years of experience in recreation programming, event coordination, facility operations, or related field.
• Certified Park and Recreation Professional (CPRP) credential preferred.
• First Aid/CPR/AED certification within six months of hire.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate innovative recreation programs responding to community needs and assess performance.
• Assist with planning, coordination, and implementation of special events.
• Administer program contracts per Village policies, including independent contractor agreements and documentation.
• Oversee all aspects of facility rentals from inquiry to event completion, including customer communication and coordination with Public Works.
