Job summary

Placements24 is assisting a community-focused client in California with a Recreation Program Coordinator role. The position involves developing, implementing, and managing a diverse slate of leisure activities to promote health, wellness, and social engagement.

You will collaborate with community members, schools, and volunteers to deliver high-quality programs across age groups, blending administrative tasks with direct program delivery and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Recreation Management, Leisure Studies, or related field.
• Experience planning and coordinating community recreational programs.
• Strong knowledge of program development, risk management, and volunteer management.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
• First Aid and CPR certification is required.
• Ability to work flexible hours including some evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Design, schedule, and promote a variety of recreational programs.
• Recruit, train, and supervise program staff and volunteers.
• Manage program budgets, including expenditure tracking and revenue.
• Develop and maintain partnerships with schools, community groups, and businesses.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of participants by adhering to policies.
• Evaluate program effectiveness through feedback and outcomes.
