Job summary

The City of Dallas seeks a Recreation Center Assistant to support the development and delivery of recreation, cultural, and educational programs for Dallas residents at its recreation centers, coordinating logistics and youth services.

You will assist with after-school activities, supervise programs, handle registrations, transport youth on field trips, and help promote programs at health fairs and community events.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required.
• First Aid/CPR within 6 months of employment.
• Must possess a valid Texas Driver's License.
• Ability to work with children, youth, and adults.
• Knowledge of recreation facilities and general programming.

Responsibilities

• Assists in developing and implementing programs and activities at recreation centers for adults, teens, children, and the community.
• Leads recreational activities, demonstrates sports procedures, and teaches rules to ensure safe, enjoyable activities.
• Assists with after school programs and manages program logistics and documentation.
• Maintains records such as attendance, IDs, and revenue, and processes registrations and related documents.
• Provides information and excellent customer service to participants; promotes programs at health fairs and events.
• Transports youth to field trips and special events and assists with marketing materials for programs.
