Job summary

The City of Dallas is seeking a Recreation Center Assistant to support the development, planning, and implementation of recreational, cultural, and educational programs at Dallas recreation centers. You will help coordinate youth services, community events, and daily operations to ensure activity availability for residents.

The role emphasizes strong customer service, record keeping, registrations, transport of youth for field trips, and safe, engaging activities for all ages.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• First Aid/CPR certification within 6 months of employment.
• Must possess a valid Texas Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and implementing programs at recreation centers.
• Lead recreational activities and instruct participants in games.
• Support after school programs with organized activities and logistics.
• Maintain attendance records and program reports.
• Provide information and excellent customer service to the community.
• Process registrations, schedules, and sales of supplies; handle funds daily.
• Transport youth to field trips and special events.
• Enforce safety rules and program regulations during activities.
• Assist with marketing, calendars, and distribution of materials.
• Perform other tasks as needed.
