Job summary

City of Dallas seeks a Recreation Center Assistant to support and implement programs at the City's recreation centers. You will coordinate logistics, assist with youth services, senior assistance, and special events to ensure activities are available for Dallas residents.

In this role you will lead activities for all ages, enforce safety rules, manage registrations, track attendance, and help with marketing materials.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; First Aid/CPR certification within 6 months.
• No prior experience required for Summer Seasonal roles.
• 18 years or older; driver’s license may be required for some vacancies.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and implementing programs at recreation centers.
• Lead recreational activities and teach sports rules to participants.
• Assist after-school programs and manage logistics for activities.
• Maintain attendance, ID cards, and equipment inventories for programs.
• Provide information and excellent customer service to participants.
• Handle registrations, scheduling, and basic cash handling tasks.
• Transport youth to field trips and special events when needed.
• Enforce rules, safety procedures, and proper conduct during activities.
• Support outreach and marketing for programs and events.
• Perform additional tasks as needed to ensure smooth operations.
