Job summary

Harris County Precinct 4 is seeking a Resource Specialist to support operations at the Alief Community Center. You will help organize programs, schedule events, and provide resources that enrich the lives of residents in a welcoming environment.

Work closely with the Community Center Manager and Assistant Manager, juggling multiple projects while maintaining accurate records and promoting community participation.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one (1) year of customer service or clerical experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Capacity to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative and clerical support, including answering phones, maintaining files, and preparing correspondence and reports.
• Assist in scheduling the use of community center facilities and coordinate logistics for programs, classes, and events.
• Support the development and delivery of recreational, educational, and community programs; lead classes as assigned.
• Maintain accurate program and participant records.
• Assist in developing promotional materials and communicating available programs to the public.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with participants, staff, and community partners.
• Support daily facility operations, including room setup, event preparation, and maintaining cleanliness when facilities staff are unavailable.
• Participate in disaster preparedness, response, and recovery operations.
• Represent Precinct 4 with professionalism at all times, including assisting constituents and reinforcing community center rules as necessary.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to ensure the effective operation of the community center.
