Job summary

The Salvation Army is seeking a Community Center Program Assistant to help with program activities and office support. You will assist visitors, clients, and staff and serve as a key resource in the absence of the Director.

You will support participant well-being, identify needs, provide hospitality, guide group activities, and help enforce safety procedures while performing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Basic computer skills.
• High School diploma/GED or equivalent.
• Experience in youth programming/ministry/social services preferred.
• Experience in food service operations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Care and well-being of program participants.
• Identify and meet individual participant needs.
• Provide friendly hospitality to those we serve.
• Encourage group interaction, problem solving, and decision making.
• Guide groups or individuals in activity plans.
• Enforce facility safety regulations and implement emergency procedures.
• Clean tables and vacuum carpets as needed.
• Serve breakfast, lunch, and snacks as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
