Job summary

The Salvation Army USA Central Territory is seeking a Community Center Program Assistant to support all community center programs, including general office and program-related tasks. The role serves as the primary resource for visitors and staff in the absence of the Director.

This position emphasizes participant care, friendly hospitality, guidance in activities, and adherence to safety and emergency procedures, with responsibilities that include serving meals and assisting with various duties

Qualifications

Minimum of High School diploma/GED or equivalent.
Training and/or education experience in youth programming, ministry and/or social services preferred.
Training and/or education experience in food and/or food service operations preferred.

Responsibilities

Care for the well-being of program participants and identify their needs.
Provide welcoming, friendly hospitality to visitors and participants.
Serve as a key resource for questions and program guidance in the absence of the Director.
Encourage group or individual activity planning and problem solving.
Guide groups or individuals in activity plans.
Enforce facility safety regulations and implement emergency procedures.
Assist with cleaning tables and vacuuming carpets as needed.
Serve breakfast, lunch, and snacks as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
