Job summary

The Salvation Army is seeking a Program Assistant to support the Director of Social Services or the Community Program Coordinator in running community programs for children and adults, promoting emotional, physical and spiritual well‑being.

You will help with Community Kitchen, showers, laundry and other services, foster relationships with participants, and ensure safety and order within the facility. Training in social services is preferred, and opportunities for growth are available.

Qualifications

• Basic computer skills required.
• High School diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• Training/education in leading social service programs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing, conducting and supervising Community Center programs.
• Build relationships with parents and children participating in programs.
• Enforce facility safety regulations and emergency procedures.
• Maintain order in the Community Center and enforce conduct rules.
• Open and close the community center as needed.
• Safeguard equipment and supplies.
• Perform regular cleaning and maintenance during programming.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
