Job summary

The City of Cooper City is seeking an experienced Parks and Recreation Coordinator to oversee daily operations, plan diverse programs, events, and activities for all ages, and ensure safety of facilities and patrons.

The role requires an associate degree, 3+ years in the field with supervisory experience, strong knowledge of budget operations and recreation software, and the ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Associates’ degree or equivalent; 3+ years in parks and recreation or related field.
• At least 1 year of supervisory experience preferred.
• Valid Florida driver’s license by date of hire.
• First Aid and CPR certification within 6 months.
• Level 2 background screening required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate planning and supervision of department programs, facilities, and events.
• Develop goals, policies, and procedures for department.
• Prepare reports and manage budgets.
• Ensure safety of facilities, staff, and patrons.
• Interact with volunteers and community groups.
