Job summary

City of Delray Beach is hiring for a Recreation Coordinator/Staff role to plan, coordinate and supervise diverse recreational activities and events for all ages. You will ensure safety, assist with maintenance, and support emergency drills while working under supervision in a City Parks and Recreation setting.

Candidates should have a high school diploma, 6 months in childcare/recreation or related fields, and a valid FL driver's license.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; 18+ at application.
• 6 months experience in childcare, recreation, customer service or related field.
• Valid Florida Driver's License with good driving record.
• CPR, AED, and First Aid required within 30 days of hire.
• Child Development Accreditation preferred.
• Knowledge of Logic Pro 10 for 505 Teen Center position.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and supervise recreational activities, events and trips for varied age groups.
• Supervise participants indoors and outdoors, including those with special needs.
• Maintain a safe environment and complete incident reports.
• Conduct crisis and fire drills and follow emergency procedures.
• Assist with routine maintenance inside and outside the facility.
• Drive recreation van on field trips as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Foster positive relations and morale city-wide.
• Be available for four mandatory events (July 4th, Tree Lighting, Holiday Parade, St Patrick's).
