Responsibilities

• Increase parent involvement by working with school, parents and community groups.
• Facilitate parent and school community concerns and issues including policies and facilities.
• Conduct outreach to engage parents in their children’s education.
• Convene regular parent meetings and events on key topics for parents.
• Attend parent meetings with the principal when appropriate.
• Support the parent association with by-laws, elections and governance.
• Serve as liaison to central and field-based parent support staff.
• Maintain contact with community organizations providing services to the school.
• Organize back-to-school and other events to welcome parents and the community.
