Job summary

The Nebraska Humane Society in Omaha, NE is seeking a Community Support Coordinator to manage intake, assess needs, and coordinate resources for community programs.

Under the Community Support Manager, you will screen requests, arrange referrals and appointments, and maintain accurate documentation while supporting outreach and data reporting across initiatives such as the Pet Food Pantry, Forever Home Program, AniMeals, and Project Pet Safe.

Qualifications

• Associates degree preferred or higher; high school diploma required.
• One year experience in intake, case coordination, eligibility screening or related work preferred.
• Ability to gather and evaluate information and apply guidelines.
• Strong organizational and communication skills; confidentiality.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary intake point for individuals seeking assistance by conducting needs assessments and identifying resources.
• Coordinate approved services, referrals, appointments, and distribution of program resources.
• Maintain accurate case documentation and track open requests for timely closure.
• Conduct grassroots outreach to increase awareness and accessibility of NHS programs.
• Monitor program operations, records, forms, and databases; ensure compliance with guidelines.
