Job summary

Nebraska Humane Society in Omaha is seeking an experienced Animal Support Manager to lead the Animal Support team across dogs, cats, and other species. You will oversee staffing, scheduling, and program administration while guiding behavior support, enrichment, and caregiver training.

Reporting to the Director of Animal Welfare, you will ensure policy compliance, manage budgets, and partner with Veterinary Services and volunteers to advance lifesaving outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in animal behavior, animal science, organizational leadership, or related field preferred.
• Minimum of five years in animal behavior, sheltering, or related field.
• Minimum of three years supervisory or management experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage staffing, scheduling, and leave coordination for Animal Support staff.
• Provide coaching, performance reviews, and professional development.
• Oversee behavior support, enrichment, playgroups, and related services.
• Ensure timely documentation in Chameleon and other systems.
• Collaborate with other departments on shelter operations and safety.
