Job summary

Houston Public Library seeks a creative, resourceful Community Liaison to join Central Library’s Community Resource Center. You will develop and coordinate community-centered services responsive to current and emerging needs, working with the Senior Community Liaison to support underserved populations.

Responsibilities include building relationships with vulnerable groups, creating partnerships with agencies, and maintaining program documentation, outcomes, and reports.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor's degree in Liberal Arts, Business Administration or a related field.
• Two years of experience in community organizational work, resource and referral services, or a closely related field.
• Substitution allows professional experience to substitute education on a year-for-year basis.
• Preference for veteran applicants.

Responsibilities

• Build relationships with vulnerable populations and connect them to library services.
• Develop partnerships with community agencies and nonprofits.
• Maintain documentation, statistics and reports on projects and programs.
• Provide information and assistance to library customers.
• Occasional visits to other Houston Public Library locations.
• Evening and weekend shift rotations.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
