The City of Houston’s Public Library is seeking a Community Liaison for Central Library’s Community Resource Center. You will develop and coordinate community-centered services responsive to current and emergent needs.

The Houston Public Library is seeking a creative, resourceful, and team-oriented Community Liaison to join Central Library’s Community Resource Center team. Working with the Senior Community Liaison, the selected candidate will develop and coordinate community centered services and programs that are responsive to the existing and emergent community needs.

The position is physically comfortable, the individual has discretion about walking, standing, etc. There are no major sources of discomfort, i.e., a normal office environment with acceptable lighting, temperature, and air conditions. Requires the ability to make coordinated gross motor movements in response to changing external stimuli within moderately demanding tolerances; or the ability to make coordinated eye/hand movements on a patterned response space within low tolerance demands with no real speed requirements.
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Liberal Arts, Business Administration or a related field.
Two years of experience in community organizational work, resource and referral services, or a closely related field are required.
Professional experience related to the type of work to be performed may substitute for the education requirement on a year-for-year basis.

The selection process will involve application review and/or Interview. The department may administer skills assessment test.
