Job summary

Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Washington is seeking a dedicated family ministry leader to champion outreach, mentor young families, and coordinate events and mission projects. The role reports to the Pastor with a 25–40 hour weekly schedule and requires attendance at worship services.

Compensation ranges from $40,000 to $60,000 per year, based on experience and time commitment, with benefits aligned to Washington state guidelines for lay professionals.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in family ministry, with creativity and outreach impact.
• Relational warmth, able to speak comfortably to groups of varying sizes.
• Leadership and communication skills to engage youth, parents and volunteers.
• Self-motivated, able to develop new programs and outreach strategies; theological alignment.

Responsibilities

• Champion outreach initiatives to connect with unchurched families and introduce them to Jesus.
• Mentor and disciple young families and children in their faith journey.
• Network with other area leaders to foster connections.
• Cultivate strong relationships with parents, schools and community organizations.
• Oversee planning and execution of family events, retreats and mission projects.

Qualifications:

• You have a strong relationship with Jesus Christ and a heart for evangelism.
• You have proven experience in family ministry, either as an employee or a volunteer,and demonstrate creativity and effectiveness in outreach and discipleship.
• You have relational warmth. People find you approachable and easy to talk to. You clearly care for people and can speak comfortably and naturally in front of large and small groups.
• You have strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with youth, parents, and volunteers.
• You are self-motivated, and can develop new programs and outreach strategies with perseverance.
• You align theologically with basic Christianity and can affirm the sacramental witness of Emmanuel Lutheran.
• Ordination is not required.
• Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not necessary.
