Job Title: Associate Pastor
Reports To: Lead Pastor
Position Type: Full-Time 36+ hours per week

Position Summary: The Associate Pastor/Director is a vital spiritual leader responsible for helping to shepherd and mobilize the Emmanuel Church congregation to fulfill the "GO" aspect of our vision. This role ensures that every person who enters our doors experiences belonging and is guided into active service. The core focus is on creating seamless pathways for connection, discipleship, and mission engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

Connection & Assimilation: Creating a warm, relational experience that guides newcomers from guest to committed member.

• Hospitality Team Leadership: Lead, train, and inspire the Hospitality Team (Greeters, Guest Central, Cafe) to ensure excellence, consistency, and genuine relational warmth in all first impressions.
• Next Steps & Onboarding: Oversee the entire "Next Steps" process, including the Beginner's Track and membership process, guiding new attendees to understand our mission, values, and pathways for active involvement.
• Systems Management: Implement and analyze engagement metrics (e.g., Guest Central contacts, Beginner's Track growth) to continuously refine assimilation pathways and enhance the overall guest experience.

Community & Mission Mobilization (GO Team): Activating the church body to live out the Great Commission locally, regionally, and globally.

• Mission Strategy & Leadership: Lead, develop, and mobilize the Mission Core Team (GO Team) and all associated volunteers. Drive consistent participation in missional opportunities both inside and outside the church (local, regional, and global).
• Volunteer Equipping: Inspire and equip individuals to transition from learners to active servants, developing systems to track volunteer participation, impact, and retention across all GO initiatives.
• Specialist Track Support: Support and facilitate specialized training to equip leaders and volunteers to serve effectively in focused ministry areas.
• Culture of Discipleship: Foster a culture where members understand that involvement and action are essential parts of their spiritual growth ("discipleship through action").

Pastoral Care & Teaching Alignment: Providing essential relational support and ensuring seamless integration of teaching into action.

• Pastoral Care Support: Provide relational and spiritual support to individuals and families during key life moments (celebrations, crises, challenges) in partnership with the Lead Pastor, ensuring consistent, personal, and meaningful care.
• Teaching Integration: Collaborate with the teaching team to ensure that sermon series and spiritual formation initiatives are seamlessly linked to practical next steps in connection, discipleship, and mission engagement.
