Job summary

Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Washington is seeking a Community Outreach Coordinator to lead family-focused outreach and discipleship efforts. You will collaborate with pastors, parents, and volunteers to create welcoming programs that engage unchurched families and nurture faith formation.

The role requires strong relational and speaking skills, a heart for evangelism, and the ability to design new outreach initiatives.

Qualifications

Has a strong relationship with Jesus Christ and a heart for evangelism.
Proven experience in family ministry and outreach and discipleship.
Relational warmth; approachable and comfortable speaking to groups of varying sizes.
Strong leadership and communication skills with youth, parents, and volunteers.
Self-motivated and able to develop new programs and outreach strategies.
Aligns theologically with basic Christianity; may affirm sacramental witness.
Ordination is not required.
Bi-lingual English/Spanish preferred but not necessary.

Responsibilities

Champion outreach initiatives to connect with unchurched families.
Mentor and disciple young families and children, guiding them in their faith journey.
Network with other leaders in the area to foster connections.
Cultivate strong relationships with parents, schools, and community organizations.
Oversee the planning and execution of family events, retreats, and mission projects.
