Job summary

Neighborhood Legal Services of Los Angeles County (NLSLA) seeks a full-time, temporary Case Manager to support a Douglas Foundation-funded initiative expanding access to domestic violence, legal, and social-service resources for low-income residents.

The role requires travel to the Antelope Valley, collaboration with social workers, attorneys, and community partners, and participation in workshops and clinics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, sociology, human services, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Experience providing case management, resource navigation, outreach, or direct services to low-income individuals and families.
• Ability to communicate effectively with clients, partners, and interdisciplinary teams and to maintain timely documentation.
• Ability to work independently in community settings and within a legal/social-services team.
• Must be able and willing to regularly travel to the Antelope Valley and other LA County locations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct client intakes, screenings, and needs assessments to identify legal, social-service, and housing resources.
• Provide short-term case management, referrals, and follow-up to connect clients with services.
• Coordinate outreach events, workshops, and community clinics funded by the Douglas Foundation.
• Develop relationships with community colleges, CalWORKs, and partner organizations for referrals.
• Maintain accurate case notes and program documentation for reporting.
